Important SMS was developed entirely in house to meet the specific needs of an existing client.

We are using an International gateway to deliver the messages, and as such there a few things you need to be aware of; SMS is a store and forward technology, it cannot be relied on for mission critical or instant messaging.

Once messages leave this site, they go to very reliable international carriers, where the messages are checked for content and destination before being placed into a queue for delivery.

The message will then get sorted and delivered to the destination mobile carriers SMSC, or SMS collector.

The messages are then forwarded onto the destined mobile phone if it is available, eg switched on or in range. If the phone cannot be contacted the system will try and resend the SMS at intervals of 10 minutes, until the message can be delivered.

Generally delivery is withing 5 to 10 seconds.

The Important SMS Console will do its best to ensure successful delivery of all messages. Successful delivery depends on additional parties such as ISP's, telcos and network operators, hence Important SMS cannot guarantee delivery. The networks covered may change from time to time and it is the responsibility of each user to verify that the networks it wishes to send to are covered. One Important SMS credit allows you to send one SMS message, provided that networks do not introduce reciprocal charges. In the event that a network(s) introduce reciprocal charges, Important SMS retains the right to increase the number of credits needed per message, for that specific network(s).
